Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari reiterated his demand for an NRC-like exercise in Delhi, claiming that large numbers of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas have 'infiltrated' into the city. He said this while addressing the media here on Tuesday. He also hit out at the Congress for opposing the NRC (National Register of Citizens) in Parliament and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over deletion of voters' names.

Hitting out at the Congress over the NRC issue, the BJP leader said, "The opposition to NRC by the Congress clearly shows that for them the interest of the country is less important than its politics as the party is protecting illegal infiltrators in Assam." Attacking the Kejriwal government and reiterating his demand for a similar exercise in Delhi, Tiwari said, "Large numbers of Rohingyas have infiltrated into Delhi. Previously due to the Bangladeshis and now due to the Rohingyas, the rights of the citizens of Delhi have been adversely affected. It is also affecting the law and order situation in Delhi. He demanded that the central government should identify these "infiltrators and deport them" as is happening in other parts of the country. "The present government has taken strict measures and identified them. Now, it wants to deport them but the Congress is only playing politics on the pretext of their rights," he alleged.

Releasing an audio clip at the press conference, Tiwari attacked the Kejriwal government, saying that previously the Aam Aadmi Party demanded Voter ID cards from the families of school students, violating the Right to Privacy of the citizens of Delhi. "Now, the AAP workers are giving information to people about deletion of voters' names, and accusing the BJP for it. Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Election Commission of deleting the names of 30 lakh voters in Delhi. But on the contrary, the EC has clarified that 1.5 lakh voters have been added to the list. Kejriwal is misleading the people of Delhi to save his sinking boat with the help of false propaganda," he said.

Addressing the media persons, Tiwari said, "The Narendra Modi-led NDA government will always be remembered for providing 10 per cent reservation to the economically weaker sections without curtailing the reservation of SC/ST/OBC categories. This section has been demanding reservation since long."

"The PM is working with the motto of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. It means that the country will develop only when the Dalits, the exploited, the poor, the women, the youth, etc. get the opportunity to develop. After this decision, the poor among the forward castes will also contribute to the nation's development," he further stated.
