Virat Kohli flies back to Mumbai from Guwahati due to personal emergency: Report

Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli has reportedly flown back to Mumbai from Guwahati due to a reported personal emergency. Other members of the India team have reached Thiruvananthapuram for the ODI World Cup warm-up game against the Netherlands scheduled on Tuesday.

However, the nature of the personal emergency remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, there are rumours that Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma may be expecting their second child. Their first child Vamika was born in January 2021.

BCCI has not officially confirmed whether Kohli will miss the IND vs NED warm-up match. According to reports, he will rejoin his teammates in time for the Netherlands clash on October 2. After the warm-up match against the Netherlands on Tuesday, the Rohit Sharma-led squad will start their participation in the ODI World Cup with their first game against Australia on October 8.
