The tickets for India's World Cup matches were made available on the BookMyShow website on August 29th at exactly 6 PM. With the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match, fans were left disappointed as the tickets sold out within minutes. Frustrated fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the ticketing partner, as they were forced to wait in virtual queues for over 6 hours.
The demand for ICC World Cup 2023 tickets has been unprecedented, with fans going into a frenzy. Within minutes of the ticket sale going live, the popular ticketing platform, BookMyShow, crashed under the weight of eager fans. As a result, fans were placed in virtual queues, anxiously awaiting their turn. However, as time ticked by, the waiting time in the queue seemed to grow exponentially.
After a mere five minutes of waiting, fans found themselves stuck in the queue, receiving a message from the BMS website urging them to patiently wait for over six hours. Those fortunate enough to secure their chance to book tickets were faced with another hurdle - the high demand meant they had to act swiftly and book their tickets as soon as possible.
After approximately two hours of waiting, the queue time began to decrease, only for the BMS website to announce that tickets had sold out. Disappointment washed over fans as they were confronted with a blank seating arrangement of the stadium on their screens.
Fans, feeling let down by the whole ordeal, took to social media to vent their frustrations, criticizing BookMyShow for their failure to provide satisfactory service.
Here are some of the reactions:
Seeing the experience of Mastercard users today on #BookMyShow, pretty safe to assume it's almost impossible to get a ticket unless purchased in black. Story of every world event in this country. Shameless, corrupt and incompetent - all of them @BCCI @bookmyshow @ICC
