The legend of the music world Lata Mangeshkar urged the former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday to not think about retirement anytime soon as the nation is still in need of a cricketer like him. 

One of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 favourites, Team India, crashed out of the tournament after suffering a defeat to New Zealand in the semi-final by 18 runs on Wednesday.

The 89-year old singer, who is also a massive cricket fan, took to Twitter to support MSD, who according to reports is about to announce his retirement from the ODI format for the game.

"Namaskar M S Dhoni ji. I am hearing that you want to retire. Please don't think like that. The country needs your game and it is my request as well that you should not entertain any thought of retirement," Mangeshkar tweeted in Hindi.

Ravindra Jadeja (77) and MS Dhoni (50) added 116 runs for the 7th wicket partnership for India but fell short of the target in the end.
