As lakh to JEE aspirants are preparing to appear for the JEE mains exams, let us talk about one man who secured a seat at IIT and then decided to drop out of the prestigious institute and opt for a different route. 

This man is Rahul Rai who cracked JEE and secured admission to the premium IIT Bombay but he dropped out in 2015 to study Economics, a subject that was of more interest to him. So, to study the subject, Rahul Rai went to The Wharton School in the United States to study BSc in economics. 

He dedicatedly completed his studies in the USA and graduated in 2019. After graduation, Rahul Rai bagged a job the America and worked at Morgan Stanley for a year. Eventually, he left the job and came back to India in 2020. 

After coming back to India, he embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship with his friends. Rahul Rai and his two friends co-founded a crypto hedge fund. The idea was to use Rahul Rai's education in the crypto world. His company is called Gamma Point Capital. 

This company used to invest in digital assets and blockchain technology. The company's strategies worked and the funds became profitable. However, the company was doing so well that within five months, BlockTower Capital offered to buy the company.

Rahul Rai and his co-founders could not turn down the offer and sold the company for 150 million dollars. Later, Rahul Rai began working as co-heading Market Neutral at BlockTower Capital.
