Budget 2018-19 may announce Social Security Authority Likely

One of the highlights of the upcoming budget is likely to be the formation of a dedicated Social Security Authority.

Sources have told Zee Business that the authority will act as a single contact point for providing solutions to complaints and problems faced by citizens on any social security schemes. In addition, the authority will also act as a place, where you can get advice related to investment and insurance schemes.

Under the new authority information of all types related to government, schemes will be available in one place.

Sources say Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen on creating an authority to ease the issues that people face related to government schemes.

The upcoming Union Budget 2018-19 will be Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's last full budget before the General Elections of 2019 and thus it can be a populist as well as reformist budget. 

To give a populist touch to the budget, the finance minister may announce a dedicated Dedicated Social Security Authority (DSSA) in the budget. 

According to sources, the government wants to bring all social security schemes related to the investment and insurance under one roof. Under DSSA, information of all types related to government schemes will be available in one place. This information will be made available in accordance with your age and requirement. 

The source informed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is showing a special interest in social security authority. The reason for the decision is to make sure that the senior citizens, women and children get all information related to government schemes at one place, may it be EPF, PF, insurance or something else. 

At present, people are supposed to approach the office of the scheme to get any information related to it. 

According to the sources, the authority will act as a single contact point for all the solution of all complaints and problems. It will be offering you the solutions related to investment as well as insurance. In addition, the authority will also act as a place, where you can get advice related to investment and insurance scheme.
