Esha Deol says she 'respects' Dharmedra's statement on the Deol Family 'not getting their dues' in Bollywood.
Recently, Dharmendra talked about how the Deol family doesn’t get their due in Bollywood, and their contribution is not acknowledged in the Bollywood industry. Now, his daughter Esha Deol reacted to her father’s statement.
In a recent interview with Lehren Retro, Esha Deol opened up on his father Dharmendra’s statement about the Deol family not getting their dues and said, “If he is saying this, I respect it.” She further added, “Mila ya nahi mila, we all work very hard and we take our work seriously.”
Esha Deol also spoke about how her equation with her father has changed over the years and said, “Papa used to be strict before, but now we have built a strong bond. It’s more of a friendship.”
Earlier, in a conversation with Times Now, Dharmendra said, “Our family is not into marketing itself. We've always believed in letting our work speak for us. Sunny is in two of the biggest blockbusters of all time. You will never hear him talking about his achievements. My younger son Bobby (Deol) is also doing well for himself. But my family has never been given our due. We don't mind. The love of our fans is enough fuel to keep us going. We don't need the industry to acknowledge us.”
Dharmendra was recently seen in the movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The actor impressed everyone with his performance as Ranveer Singh’s grandfather in the movie. Earlier in an interview, Esha Deol opened up on his father’s performance and said, “Yes, I did watch it and it was a very emotional film. It was very difficult for me as a daughter to sit through certain scenes that my dad was performing. But I mean, I love him too much and as an audience also, I admire him. So, I had to just sit and tell myself not to be the daughter while watching it. Watch it as an audience.”
Recently, Esha Deol-starrer Ek Duaa won National Award at the 69th National Film Award. The director of the film, Kamal Mukherjee won National Award for Best Director. The film is also produced by Esha. The actress is all set to make a comeback to the big screen with the thriller titled Main. The movie is The movie, written and directed by Sachin Saraf and will also feature Amit Sadh in the role of an encounter specialist.
