Army steal the show in Vasai-Virar marathon

Army dominated the Vasai-Virar Mayor’s marathon as they clinched the top three positions in full and half marathon events held on Sunday.

Raspal Singh clocked 02:22:04 to bag the top spot. He walked away with a cool purse of Rs 2.50 Lakhs while Pankaj Dhaka finished second with 02:28:55. The men’s half marathon, too, was bagged by the army in a tightly fought battle. Baliappa AB who clocked 01:05:33 beat Srinu Bugatha by one second.

Results: Full Marathon 42km (Male):1st Raspal Singh (02:22:04), 2nd Pankaj Dhaka (02:28:55), 3rd Satyabhan (02:30:51);

Half Marathon 21km (Male):1st Baliappa AB (01:05:33), 2nd Srinu Bugatha (01:05:34), 3rd Damor Mohan (01:05:51)

Half Marathon 21km (Women): 1st Sanjivani Jadhav (01:18:02), 2nd Saigeeta Naik (01:18:55), 3rd Monika Athare (01:20:06)
