MLA visited Airoli on Tuesday, followed by Ghansoli yesterday. The tours are a part of his 'MLA in your ward' project, where he will converse with the residents about the latter's issues & concerns.
Airoli legislator Sandeep Naik has started touring his constituency, ahead of Diwali, to understand various problems being faced by the residents. While on Tuesday, Naik visited Airoli, Ghansoli was on in his itinerary on Wednesday, as part of his ‘MLA in your ward’ project, where he will converse directly with the residents.
During his visit to Airoli, Naik hailed the residents of the node for putting up their concerns before him and said that he has taken cognizance of the issues and that the officials from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco), MSEDC as well as the residents should discuss the issues and solve them amicably. “I am happy that the residents, particularly women, put up their problems before me and I will see to it that their concerns are attended to immediately.”
Putting her concern before the MLA, Seema Wadekar, a resident of ward no 12 along with the other residents, stated that the residents are throwing garbage in an under-construction nullah due to which mosquitoes have increased in the area posing health problems to the people. After listening to the issue, Naik personally inspected the nullah and asked the concerned official to clear the garbage immediately. He also asked the concerned deputy engineer to complete the nullah construction work at the earliest.
The residents of the ward, represented by corporator Tatya Teli complained to the MLA that the lights in the garden situated in the ward were being turned off early, discouraging the residents from going to the garden. While Naik asked the electrical department officials to put the lights on through the night, he also assured the residents that their concern regarding increased electricity bill will be solved at the earliest.
At the outset, former corporator from Digha, GS Patil and other residents gave a memorandum to Naik requesting him to look into their issues such as beautification of Divagaon circle, asphalting of roads in the village, arrangement for a jetty for fishermen, apart from a fish market in the village.
