All departments of Haryana will be linked with the e-market portal of the central government to ensure transparency in procurement of goods and services and check corruption, state Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain said here today.
All departments of Haryana will be linked with the e-market portal of the central government to ensure transparency in procurement of goods and services and check corruption, state Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain said here today.
Directions have been issued to link the Urban Local Bodies Department, the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department and the Women and Child Development Department with the government e-market portal at the headquarter and district levels within one week.
Other departments of the state will soon be linked with this portal, she said in an official release.
According to Jain, this portal is a better option for direct procurement of goods valued up to Rs 30 lakh. At present, 5,338 sellers, 17,416 buyer organisations and 3,270 service providing agencies have been availing of the transparent mechanism to sell 66,244 products.
Goods worth Rs 750 crore have so far been procured through this portal.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the government e-market portal under the Digital India campaign to provide a single platform for procurement of goods and services required by departments. This portal will ensure direct reach of sellers to all departments of the government and these will not have to waste time in checking tenders of other departments," she said.
In the case of any defect, the product procured through this portal could be returned easily, the minister added.
