Rapper Eminem has revealed that he couldn't concentrate during his first visit to a rehabilitation centre as he was constantly pestered by fans for autographs.

The 'Real Slim Shady' hitmaker checked into a treatment facility in Michigan in 2005 at the height of his prescription drug problems, but he failed to kick his addiction and was forced to return for treatment in hospital where he finally detoxed.

And Eminem has admitted that his first stint in rehab failed because he couldn't 'concentrate' on recovering as he was surrounded by devotees who all wanted some time with the superstar.

"The first time I went into rehab was in Brighton, Michigan. The second time I just went to a regular hospital. I detoxed in hospital and then came home. I couldn't go back to rehab. I felt like I was Bugs Bunny in rehab. When Bugs Bunny walks into rehab, people are going to turn and look," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

He added: "People at rehab were stealing my hats and pens and notebooks and asking for autographs. I couldn't concentrate on my problem."
