Satyam Kumar is the youngest Indian to crack Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) when he secured 670th rank in 2013.
IIT JEE entrance exam is considered by many as one of the toughest exams in India and every year lakhs of students from across India appear in IIT JEE entrance exam with an aim to crack it and take admission in IIT but only a few thousands manage to clear the exam. There are many students who appear in IIT JEE entrance exam twice or thrice to clear it but a child prodigy from Bihar created history in 2013 when he managed to crack IIT JEE exam at the age of just 13.
Satyam Kumar is the youngest Indian to crack Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) when he secured 670th rank in 2013. Satyam Kumar hails from Bhojpur district in Bihar and his father is a farmer. Satyam studied at Kota in Rajasthan to achieve his goal and he managed to clear the IIT JEE entrance exam through hard work.
Satyam Kumar of Bakhorapur village cracked the JEE twice. Satyam first appeared for IIT-JEE in 2011 at the age of 12 and secured AIR 8137 but he was not happy with the rank so he appeared again in 2012 and cracked JEE with AIR 679. Satyam Kumar later joined IIT Kanpur.
"I was not satisfied with my low rank and hence repeated the test this year. I was confident of making it this year again," the child prodigy had said to Economic Times. Satyam Kumar had once said that he wants to develop something like Facebook.
After completing his BTech-MTech Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, Satyam Kumar went to University of Texas at Austin to complete his PhD. Satyam completed his PhD in 2024 at the age of 24. According to Satyam Kumar’s LinkedIn profile, he is currently working at Apple as a Machine Learning Intern.
