The body of Irfan, who was electrocuted 50 days ago in Saudi Arabia, reached his hometown in Greater Noida on Monday. The deceased's family held the final rites after almost a two-month wait. However, his six-year-old son still believes that his father would return after two years.

Irfan was survived by wife Nargis (25) and son Sohail, brother Shamshad (18) along with his father Nizam (55). He shifted to Saudi in July year and worked as a driver.

The family reached the Delhi airport at around 7 am and the body was handed over to them at around 9 am. The delay in handing over the body to the family members was due to an ongoing investigation, the local authority said. Irfan was allegedly electrocuted while trying to turn on a switch to help water the plants inside a private complex in Dammam city. He had arrived in Dammam four months ago on a 24-month contract.

For Irfan's family, the last two months have been a real struggle as after the death also they could not bring back the body of their son who had moved to Saudi in July this year. The under privileged family was asked to pay around Rs 1.5 lakh (about 8,000 Saudi rials) to bring the body via flight. The family claimed that had to seek help of the government in order to get his body back as they could not afford to travel to Saudi to bring back his body.

Speaking to DNA Nizam said that, Irfan was the sole bread earner of the family. He had been looking after the financial needs of the family from the past 9 years.

"He used to run a kiosk near the house and also worked as a driver. He was very passionate to lift the family financially. So, earlier this year he decided to go to Saudi for better earning. However, the news of his death came as a shocker to the family. No one earns in the family so I will have to start working again," said Nizam.

Nizam further added that Irfan's six-year-old son still does not know about his father's death as we have not told him anything.

"Sohail still knows that his father is in Saudi and will return after two years. He will not be able to handle the news of his father's death so we have kept it as a secret. While the condition of his wife Nargis, is deteriorating. We have to look after her also now," said Nazim.
