Steve Smith goes from crease to nets ahead of Ashes return

Aussies cricketer Steve Smith continued his recovery for the fourth Ashes test match by continuing his net practices. 

Smith was sidelined during Australia's loss against England at the Leeds after he getting hit on the head by a Jofra Archer bouncer during the second match at Lord's and suffered a concussion.

He did make his comeback in the three-day match at the County Ground and scored a 38-balls 23 before getting dissmised against.  

"I think if Smudger (Smith) got 20 or 220 he'd still want to go to the nets and have a hit," said Mitchell Marsh, who partnered Smith during a 58-run stand.

"That's just him, that's what he does, and that's why he's the best in the world."

The return of Smith is definilty boost for the Aussies after England lost their star pacer James Anderson through injury.

Anderson has been ruled out of the rest of the final two Test matches of the 2019 Ashes series with a calf injury.

He underwent scans after suffering a calf injury during day one of the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston. The 37-year-old felt some tightness in his right calf soon after ending his fourth over during Australia's first innings.

The Ashes series is currently tied at 1-1 with the fourth match starting at Old Trafford from September 4th before the final test starts at The Oval in London on September 12​.
