Eight developers including prominent developers like Haware, The Wadhwa Group, Parinee and others, were made to pay penalties for not putting MahaRERA's website's address in their advertisements and one developer was fined for advertising an unregistered project.

MahaRERA slapped penalties ranging from Rs 2 lakh to 10 lakh on these developers for advertising their projects in violation of the act. The authority acted on the complaints made by Mumbai Grahak Panchayat.

The list of the developers include Sumit Group, The Wadhwa Group, Ipsit Project, Jyoti Builders, Parinee Building Properties, Haware Properties, Karrm Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. These were asked to pay a penalty of Rs 2 lakh, while Tridhaatu Morya, was made to pay a penalty of Rs 10 lakh.

Advocate Shirish Deshpande, Chairman of the Mumbai Grahak Panchayat said, "There were various issues with the developers' advertisements. For example, they had not mentioned the website address of MahaRERA.
Developers put their registration number, but they do not mention the website where the home buyer can go and check the details and use his wisdom before investing. It is mandatory as per the act to put the website's address." The MGP has complained about 31 projects till now.

When asked Vasant Prabhu, secretary, MahaRERA, about the penalty, he confirmed it. The Wadhwa group refrained from commenting on the issue. Haware Developer's managing director Aniket Haware clarified that his company has no intention of challenging the order. "We are completely in sync with MahaRERA and the guidelines mandated and have been following all the crucial mandates. This was a communication miss, which has happened as a logistical error. We have made the corrections within our internal and external branding team to ensure this does not occur again," he said.

A detailed query sent to Parinee got elicited no response.
