Right to Information activist Arvind Kejriwal and seven others were today arrested after they held a protest at sub-registrar office and blocked a road in Noida.
Kejriwal, leading a group of 60 people to protest against alleged inaction by the authorities on a police complaint, was later released. He was arrested under IPC section 151 for ignoring the command to disperse, police said.
The seven others were released after they signed a bond but Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Kejriwal refused to do so. He was freed this evening.
They were protesting against the alleged inaction of the authorities on a police complaint filed by an NRI who was mishandled by a staff when he went to sub-registrar office to lodge a complaint against the government employee for demanding bribe.
