The city Crime Branch has arrested one of the main accused involved in the Chandkheda loot case. On April 4, 2019, three robbers got inside a house with an intention of stealing valuables, threatened the woman with a knife and attacked her brother-in-law.

The accused identified as Ranjeet Singh Goraya, 23, is a resident of Haryana. As per officials, the accused was hiding in Uttarakhand. "We arrested him after receiving a tip off from our sources. Investigation revealed that Ranjeet was the mastermind behind the crime and he directed his gang members."

It was also revealed that his other two partners identified as Sunil Roshanlal, resident of Haryana and Sandeep Sharma were also involved in the crime. As per the plan, the accused aimed at only threatening the woman and stealing valuables, but unexpectedly her brother-in-law returned back home and the accused attacked him.

As per officials, the accused are involved in a number of break-in cases in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. They targetted the houses during the day time.

They first recced the place and accordingly selected the house. After stealing valuables they would return back to their native place.

The officials were able to nab down one of the accused, while the other two are absconding. The search for them is on.
