Here's how Sanjay Dutt is preparing to essay the role of an Afghan king in 'Panipat'

Actor Sanjay Dutt who was last seen on the silver screen in the multi-starrer film Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, alongside Chitrangada Singh and Jimmy Sheirgill, is preparing hard for his next, titled Panipat.

The actor is leaving no stone unturned and is gearing up for the period drama with zest and rigour. 

The Khalnayak of Bollywood is doing all he can, and in fact recently underwent costume and makeup trials for the film at a suburban studio. 

According to an official statement, Sanjay Dutt will be seen as an Afghan King in the film and was spotted with his team undergoing make-up, hair and costume trials for his character. 

The actor not only tried out an array of costumes and accessories, he had also tried different types of beards since his character will require him to flaunt long facial hair in the film. 

The character will also be sporting a short crop. 

Based on the time of the third battle of Panipat, the period film requires the actor to get the nuances and mannerism right for his role and Sanjay Dutt is doing everything possible to get into the skin of the character. 

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Panipat will also star Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and is slated to release in December next year. 

Apart from this, the Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in Shamshera which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor, and Kalank which stars Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.
