Why Sanjay Dutt came late for a special screening of Sanju?

At a special screening of Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju on Thursday night, we hear Sanjay Dutt, on whom the film is based, was specifically called by the filmmaker. A source tells us that during the interval, quite a few of the audience, spellbound by the first half, asked Raju where Sanjay was and why he wasn’t present for the preview.

“After Aamir Khan also wondered how come the subject of the film wasn’t around, the filmmaker called Sanjay and apprising him of his celeb guests’ queries, requested his Munnabhai to join the screening. Raju told Sanju that everyone was keen to meet him,” says our source, adding that just as the film was ending, the actor walked in. Spotting him as the end credits rolled, all those present stood up to give him a loud applause.
