‘Panipat’ teaser poster: Ashutosh Gowariker ropes in Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt for his next

It is not unknown that filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is inclined towards making historical dramas. Now after giving us films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro, Ashutosh is back with yet another historical tale about what led to the third Battle of Panipat.

Titled Panipat, the film stars Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon. Ashutosh took to Twitter to share the first teaser poster of the film as he wrote, “Historical dramas have always fascinated me. This time it is a story about what led to the Third Battle of #Panipat. Here’s the first teaser Poster!!”

Kriti and Arjun, who also made the announcement on social media, shared that they are proud to be a part of the film.

While not much has been revealed about the film, Gowarikar spoke to Mid Day about his lead cast, “I shared screen space with Sanjay Dutt in Naam (1986), which was a memorable co-acting experience. It will be great to direct such a versatile and talented actor.”

Produced by Ashutosh Gowariker's wife, Sunita, and Rohit Shelatkar's company, Vision World, Panipat is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
