After Pakistan suffers their maiden loss against Afghanistan in the ongoing World Cup 2023, Former Pakistan star batter, Basit Ali explains about the statement he made a year ago regarding Babar Azam’s captaincy which led to massive trolling.

According to ARY News, he said, "I told one year ago on my channel that Babar Azam is a very good batter. He should quit captaincy, just like Virat Kohli did. Virat stepped down and looked at his performances. His performance will become better, for sure."

He further said how his words got manipulated and soon converted into trolling. "But, as we all know, certain people on social media twisted my words, saying I don't like Babar Azam and I am a traitor," the former Pakistani star batter adds.

With four matches remaining, Pakistan still stands a chance to make into the semi-finals. Winning all the matches is now necessary for them, but also it depend on other results that go in their favour in securing a concrete place at the knock-outs.
