Weather update: IMD predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha, Gujarat and other states; check rain forecast here

The next few days are expected to see a lot of rain in different parts of India, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD predicts that heavy rains could fall in a number of states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha. Additionally, the Met Office has issued a Yellow alert and an Orange warning for numerous areas of Odisha due to severe rainfall. 

Rainfall is expected till September 22 in West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar. Additionally, Rajasthan has already experienced rain in a number of its cities. Up till September 22, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to see considerable precipitation.

According to the meteorological service, a low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, and as a result, some districts of Odisha may experience extensive rainfall for the next four days. In some areas of the state over the next two days, rain and thunderstorms with lightning are also expected, according to the IMD regional center's prediction.

IMD has issued an Orange weather alert for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri districts due to heavy rainfall. In addition, the districts of Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi have received a Yellow alert for heavy rains.

Several districts in Odisha, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sonepur, and Bolangir will be having thunderstorms with lightning.

Isolated heavy rain, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand. In the upcoming 24 hours, a thunderstorm with one or two lightning strikes is expected to occur over 22 districts in Odisha. For the following two days, the IMD has issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) and an Orange Warning.
