Popular Hindi singer KK said reality shows need to be entertaining and hence at times producers ask the judges to be rude with the participants.

"At times judges are asked to be rude as the shows need to have some entertainment besides music," KK, who has judged Fame Gurukul told reporters in Goa.

"I agree ultimately it becomes entertainment at the cost of mockery," said the 40-year-old singer.

KK, who was in Panaji for a concert, said unfortunately even the participant is happy as his face is shown on the television.

"People tell him that they saw him on the television. Some participate in reality shows just to be seen on the TV," he said.

The singer, who has sung chart busters like Tadap Tadap Ke... and Khuda Jane... admitted that some participants of reality shows do not even have basic knowledge of singing.

KK said the singer always learns after practicing. "I myself was a bathroom singer and had no formal training," said the singer, who started his career in 1994 and currently has 500 songs and 2,500 jingles to his credit.

Talking about his stage performances, KK said he generally decides which songs to sing only after gauging audience.

"I do not have any pre-conceived notion when I go for singing," he added.
