Three more arrested for stabbing man after tempo brushes past pet dog in Uttam Nagar

The accused has been identified as Ankit, his brother Paras and their tenant Dev Chopra. During enquiry it came to notice that all the three accused had switched off their mobile phones.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man who was stabbed to death in front of his family after they were attacked by three men as deceased's tempo brushed against the accused's dog and injuring it in Uttam Nagar area on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, another accused Karan was already arrested on Sunday.

On intervening night of October 5, the deceased identified as Vijender Rana was brutally stabbed to death while his brother Rajesh Rana received stabs injuries after the arrested accused along with one tenant had allegedly assaulted duo brothers with kitchen knife as their tempo brushed the dog of accused Ankit.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Ankit, his brother Paras and their tenant Dev Chopra. During enquiry it came to notice that all the three accused had switched off their mobile phones.

"During investigation, they were seen in one CCTV footage of Sector 7, Dwarka following which one Sumit confirmed about the visit of all the three accused. He further informed that Chopra called him by using an unknown number. Hence, CDR of that unknown number was developed and its location was found to be at Phagwara in Punjab. Hence, a team was immediately sent to Punjab on October 6 where uncle of both Ankit and Paras met who confirmed that they had came to him for shelter but he refused for the same. Hence, they went away to some unknown place," said Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka).

Later, the last location was found at Manesar and then the mobile was switched off. Hence, a team was sent to Manesar, Haryana also but the team could to find them.

"We came to know the accused were planning to surrender before the court. A team was deployed in the nearby area of Dwarka court. On October 9, a trap was laid and all the three accused were arrested from the red light of Sector 9, Dwarka. During interrogation, they revealed they had been travelling to evade arrest and on October 9, they came to Delhi to consult any good advocate. But they were arrested by the police, before they could contact any advocate," said Alphonse.
