The brand value of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has suffered a major blow due to the involvement of son Aryan Khan in a drug-related case and subsequent arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Aryan is currently lodged in Arthur Road jail and his bail plea will be heard on Wednesday.

Following the failure of his film Zero, Shah Rukh Khan returned to the film sets after a break of three years. But now due to this case, the shooting of the film Pathan with Deepika Padukone and another with South's director Atli has been stopped indefinitely.

On the microblogging website Twitter, the hashtag #Boycott_SRK_Related_Brands is trending heavily. For this reason, Edutech platform BYJU's has suspended all advertising campaigns featuring Shah Rukh Khan for the time being. Notably, SRK is the brand ambassador of BYJU's since the year 2017. The company took this decision when SRK's ad started getting trolled on social media. Since BYJU's ad campaigns talk about a better future for the children, many fans found the difference between reel and real-life awkward.

Recently, Vimal Elaichi also shot its new ad film without Shahrukh, only with Ajay Devgan.

Not just Vimal Elaichi, popular brands like D'Decor, Big Basket, LG, etc. that Shah Rukh endorses were planning to make a huge comeback this festive season. However, their plans to shoot new ad films have been put on hold for the time being.

The brand value of Shah Rukh Khan is being said to be Rs 378 crores. SRK is promoting 40 brands and his fee for each brand endorsement is around Rs 4 crore.

Brands are suffering huge losses after Aryan Khan was caught in the drug case because Shah Rukh Khan has already been paid the brand endorsement fee but the audience is divided due to which the brands have pressed the pause button for fear of getting trolled for a new ad film or promotion. The brands don't want their image to be damaged till the matter cools down.

According to Forbes, the net worth of SRK is Rs 5,116 crores. Brand Shahrukh has power, so making a comeback will not be difficult.

If industry experts are to be believed, the setback for brand Shah Rukh Khan will be temporary as the memory of the audience is short, while some people are saying that the stain on the family image of King Khan will not be forgotten.
