Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was detained and later arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drugs case earlier this month. Aryan Khan is currently lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road Central Jail. Meanwhile, the court is expected to pass the order on his bail plea today (October 20).

Below is a timeline of the case. Take a look.

October 2: Based on specific information, a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team conducted a raid on an alleged drugs party on a luxury ship that was preparing to lift anchor for a fun-filled two-night gala voyage to Goa. The ship had around 1,300 affluent passengers on board. From among them, eight people, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was detained.

October 3: NCB registered an FIR and booked Aryan Khan along with co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha and others under sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (DPS), 1985. Later, all accused were produced for remand before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) RK Rajebhosale. After the hearing, Aryan was remanded to one day NCB custody.

October 4: Aryan Khan's remand along with the other two co-accused was extended till October 7, 2021. Five other co-accused in the case were also remanded to NCB custody by ACMM RM Nerlikar. These were Vikrant Chhoker, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija, and Ishmeet Singh.

October 5: Four more accused were produced for remand by NCB officials. These were Manish Rajgaria, Abdul Kedar, Avin Sahu, and Shreyas Nair. They were sent to NCB custody till October 11, 2021.
Meanwhile, Aryan's friend and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant moved a bail application in court. He also filed an application requesting the CCTV footage of the terminal from where he was arrested.
NCB arrested four more people who were the organizers of the party. Gopal Jee Anand, Samir Sehgal, Manav Singhal, and Bhaskar Arora were part of the organizing team. They were sent to NCB custody till October 14, 2021.

October 7: The Mumbai magistrate's court sent Aryan Khan to 14 days judicial custody. However, Aryan spent the night in NCB custody since jail authorities did not admit accused persons post 6 pm without a COVID report. Their interim bail application of Khan and others was then scheduled to be heard on October 8.

October 8: Judge Nerlikar rejected the bail plea of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha after a marathon hearing of about 5 hours.  Mumbai court announced that Aryan Khan's plea will be heard on October 13.

October 11: Satish Maneshinde filed a bail plea in the Special Court under the NDPS Act for urgent hearing as it was not listed on the board.

October 13: Court hears arguments from the defence counsel and the prosecution. In the court, Amit Desai said, "The law has to be reformative, this is not the way to do it. They are not drug peddlers. They have suffered enough. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh responded and said, "Aryan might not have been in possession of drugs, but if he had knowledge about the possession of drugs with Arbaaz, it is as good as his own possession." The sessions court adjourns Aryan Khan's bail hearing till 11 am, October 14.

October 14: After hearing arguments of the ASG representing the NCB, and Aryan Khan's lawyer Amit Desai, Judge VV Patil reserved his order on the bail plea till October 20.

October 20: At present, Aryan is lodged at the Arthur Road jail and the court is likely to pronounce its verdict sometime around afternoon today.
