RJD and JD(U) took a dig at BJP on Tuesday over its President Amit Shah's reported comments that it will take 25 years for the promised 'achhe din' to come, saying like black money, it also proved to be a 'jumla' (euphemism).

"BJP President honestly said that it will take 25 years for the promised achhe din to come," RJD President Lalu Prasad said.

"Dil ki baat muh se nikal gayi jaise unhone pahle bhi kaala dhan ke bare me kaha tha (He spoke his heart out like he did about black money that its a jumla)," the RJD chief said, adding, "Shah should be appreciated for honestly speaking the truth about achhe din."

"When we passed comments about BJP over black money, Amit Shah candidly said it was a 'jumla' (euphemism)...similarly this time he has spoken from his heart about achhe din," Lalu said.

Shah was addressing a closed door meeting of party leaders and workers at Bhopal when he made the purported remarks.

As showed by the clipping released by BJP, Shah said, "Friends, if India is to be put on the top of the world, then a government of five years cannot do anything. When I say so it does not mean we can run away from things. In five years, we can reduce inflation, make the country's borders safe, give youth jobs, restore India's pride by redrafting our foreign policy...But our dream of making mother India the 'vishwa guru' cannot be realised in five years. It can happen only if BJP rules India from panchayat to Parliament for 25 years as Congress controlled all levers of power between 1950 and '67 after Independence," Shah told party cadres.

Senior Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Shyam Rajak said that BJP stood "exposed" by its party chief's comment that it would take 25 year for 'achhe din' to come.

"While common man has to wait for 25 years for 'achhe din' to come, the same has come immediately for a few corporate houses siding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Rajak said.
