IIT is the most premium engineering college in India. Aspirants spend years in preparation for the Joint Entrance Exam to secure a seat in any of the IITs. Getting admission to any of the IITs comes with a guaranteed job placement and a high salary package. However, there are some aspirants who crack the IIT JEE and then drop out of college to build a career in some other field.   

There are many big names among those who dropped out of IIT and made it big in life. One of them is the renowned actor Ranjan Raj. He gained popularity after playing the simple student, Balmukund Meena in the TVS web series 'Kota Factory'. 

Hailing from a small Bihar district, he was always an academically inclined student. After 12th, Raj enrolled on a coaching class in Patna to prepare for JEE. He passed the IIT entrance exam after two years of hard work and studying and secured a seat at the IIT Bombay. 

After joining his college, Ranjan Raj realised that students were interested in activities other than just studies. Encouraged by his peers, he participated in some plays and discovered his passion for theatres.

He then realised that he wanted to become an actor and in his sixth year, he decided to drop out of college and pursue his career as an actor. 

Since then, he has featured in many films such as Chichore, Rustom, Kota Factory and more. His acting talent, simplicity, and freshness that he brings to the screen have been well received by the audiences.
