Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will hold a live session with teachers across the country at 4 PM today (December 22) to address queries regarding CBSE Board Exams 2021, days after the Centre made a big decision on JEE-Main 2021 exam schedule.

The Education Minister was earlier scheduled to make the announcement on December 17 but it was postponed to December 22, considering the overwhelming response.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Education Ministry on Monday tweeted, "Teachers, tomorrow is the day! Education Minister Goes Live. Meet Union Education Minister Shri Dr R P Nishank live tomorrow on his Twitter/Facebook pages and interact with him. Hope to see you all there!"

There has been a lot of buzz on social media as well as media reports claiming that the CBSE Board Exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held in March 2021.

Students are waiting with bated breath for Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal's interaction with teachers on the issue of conduct of Class X, XII board examinations as he is expected to make important announcements regarding exam dates during the session.

While the Education Ministry is yet to announce the final date sheet for CBSE board exams for class 10 and 12, it has clarified that the exam will be held in pen and paper mode only.

After several social media posts went viral claiming the CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2021 will be held in March, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a clarification on December 10 that any decision on the board exams for classes 10 and 12 would be communicated at an appropriate time on its official website.

Here are certain topics that might be discussed in the webinar:

Class X, XII board exam dates: Students are waiting for the announcement of the CBSE Board Exams 2021 datasheet release date. The Education Minister might use this opportunity to announce the dates in the webinar session on December 22.

Practical examinations: The minister might give some information about conducting practical examinations. Pokhriyal, in his last session, had hinted that it is possible that the CBSE would opt for an alternative to practical exams in 2021 as most of the schools across the country remained close for the entire academic session due to COVID-19 outbreak.

"If students are not able to go to schools for practical exams, alternate options will be given", Nishank had said earlier. However, there has not been any official conformation regarding the matter.

A few months ago, CBSE had reduced the syllabus for Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 as classes were not held this academic session due to the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus in India.

Meanwhile, the Union Education Minister last week announced the exam schedule of JEE Main 2021 and the number of times the exams will be held in 2021.
