Despite the Congress, NCP, Left and the MNS joining hands to enforce a bandh in Mumbai, the city was largely unaffected by the protest.

MNS workers protested on the Metro railway tracks at the D.N Nagar Metro railway station on the Versova- Andheri- Ghatkopar route.

BEST buses were also attacked by stone peters at Vashi Naka and the Pratikshanagar depot. A brief rail roko was also conducted at Andheri by Congress workers led by former chief minister and state Congress chief Ashok Chavan. MNS workers also shouted slogans at Mulund station and stopped traffic at Chembur using a trailer that was put on the road. Party activists also took to the streets to enforce a shut down in Dindoshi and Goregaon.

Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro services were briefly delayed by around 15 minutes as group of people tried to halt Metro services at DN Nagar Metro station. The group was later moved out by Metro security staff and Maharahstra Security Force officials. The group had entered Metro station by buying valid tokens like normal commuters. This lead to passengers being inconvenienced during office hours. However, normal services resumed soon.

The train services though are plying normally despite Congress trying to do rail roko in Andheri and Dadar station. According to DCP Government Railway Police, Western Railway, Mumbai, Purshottam Karad , " Protesters from Andheri and dadar railway station are being removed.  Protesters at Govandi station were not allowed to enter station.  Situation is normal and trains on all routes of Central, western and harbour lines are running normally".

Escalating its attack on the central government, the Congress party has called for a nationwide shut down on Monday. 20 other political parties, including the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Samajwadi Party (SP), have extended their support to the Congress party against the fuel price hike. The protest has started in several parts of the country with political parties taking out rallies, holding placards. In some places, protestors also halted trains.
