Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday released the BSP-SP seat-sharing list for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019. Mayawati took to his Twitter page and shared the district wise list of constituencies from where SP and BSP will contest in General Elections 2019. BSP will contest on a total of 38 seats and SP will fight on 37 seats. Almost a month ago, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav in a press conference had announced that both parties will enter in a pre-poll alliance for Lok Sabha 2019 polls and subsequent elections together.

Earlier, in 2018, both — BSP and SP — had aligned for the by-polls in Uttar Pradesh held in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's turf Gorakhpur and Phulpur constituencies. Their experiment worked after SP-BSP won the election and it seems that they want to go ahead with the same success strategy in the crucial 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Mayawati's BSP will be taking key Uttar Pradesh constituencies including Saharanpur, Meerut, Noida, Bijnor, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, Gazipur to name a few while Akhilesh Yadav's SP will be contesting in Allahabad, Jhansi, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Firozabad, Etah, Bareilly, Hardoi, Lucknow, others.

Speaking about 2014 Lok Sabha election results, it was one of the most disappointing results for SP and BSP. Akhilesh Yadav's SP had only managed to win 5 out of 80 seats while Mayawati's BSP failed to bag even a single seat despite decent vote share. Not only in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, but SP and BSP failed to showcase any magic in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 where BJP won more than 300 seats while SP could only manage to win 47 and BSP won 19 seats. So far, only BSP and SP have announced their seat-sharing list for the upcoming 2019 general elections.

Uttar Pradesh is one of the key states for any party in Lok Sabha elections since it has the highest number of constituencies and a better performance by any party holds prime importance. For any party which aspires to lead in the general elections, it is very crucial that it wins the maximum seat from Uttar Pradesh.
