Christina Aguilera’s racy 'Burlesque' performance sends lingerie sales soaring

Christina Aguilera’s racy X Factor final performance, which had set millions of male pulses racing, has also sent sales of stockings and suspenders soaring.

More than 1,000 viewers had complained about a near-striptease by the pop singer as she sang a song from her film Burlesque.

But lingerie firm Gossard said that it helped boost the sales of suspender belts and elasticated hold-ups by 63%.

“It has been a Christmas of stocking thrillers rather than stocking fillers,” the Daily Express quoted Gossard managing director Tony Jarvis as saying.
