UGC NET 2020: Results declared; here's how to check

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the result of the UGC NET June 2020 examination on December 1. More than five lakh candidates appeared for the exam. They can check their results on the NTA's website —  www.nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET exams were postponed owing to the coronavirus pandemic and finally took place from September 25 to November 13. Nearly nine lakh candidates had applied for the exam and 5,26,707 of them appeared for it.

The UGC NET exams took place via Computer Based Test mode this year.  It covered 81 subjects with two shifts on every exam day.

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of NET were conducted online and there was no break in between the two. Within three hours, the appearing candidates could switch from the first paper to the second. There was no separate time allocated for the two papers.

Before the result, the answer key of UGC NET papers was released on November 30. It was made available on www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results on the NTA website.

Here are the steps for checking the UGC NET 2020 results:

- Open the official website of UGC NET 2020: www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in

- Click on the link for the 2020 results on the homepage.

- This will open the login page to check the results of UGC NET 2020. This is where the candidate can enter their application form number, date of birth, and fill the CAPTCHA code on the screen. Submit the details.

- The result and the scorecard will then appear, which can be saved or printed for future reference.

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test or UGC NET is required to be eligible for the post of assistant professor or for availing a Junior Research Fellowship award in universities and colleges in India.
