While the team is affectionately known as the "Men in Blue," their training kits have seen various colors in the past, including red and grey. In preparation for their opening World Cup clash against Australia in Chennai, Team India has unveiled a fresh training kit that draws inspiration from the iconic Dutch Orange, famously worn by The Netherlands football team. While the team is affectionately known as the "Men in Blue," their training kits have seen various colors in the past, including red and grey. However, in the last decade, they primarily stuck to shades of blue, a slightly darker hue than their matchday attire

This marks the first time that India has incorporated an orange training kit. In the 2019 World Cup in England, where the ICC mandated home and away kits, India took the field against the hosts in saffron-colored shirts and navy-blue pants. Since the arrival of the new kit partner, Adidas, in June, India had been donning a black training kit. The German manufacturer has also introduced a new World Cup kit in the traditional blue shade. The choice of this orange kit could be influenced by the fact that black tends to absorb more heat compared to lighter colors.

Team India, which arrived in Chennai on Wednesday, conducted its first comprehensive training session on Thursday. Virat Kohli began with a throwdown session alongside head coach Rahul Dravid before facing a challenging spell from Mohammed Shami, R Ashwin also enjoyed an extended batting session in the nets, while Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav bowled to Shreyas Iyer at the adjacent net.
