India opener Prithvi Shaw has surely got his form back as he amazed all with his double century for Mumbai against Puducherry in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Thursday (February 25).

The batsman joined a rare club of double centurions in List A cricket as he scored an unbeaten 200, off 142 balls, reaching his maiden double ton in 45th over of the innings.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, who now has 6 centuries in List A cricket, had a previous highest score of 150 - for India A against New Zealand A - prior to this knock.

By doing so, he has now become the 8th Indian batsman to score a double-century in List A cricket. The list being topped by Sachin Tendulkar, who was the first batsman to achieve the landmark. Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shikhar Dhawan and Karn Kaushal follow him.

Shaw becomes the second cricketer to achieve this feat for Mumbai. In 2019/20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal had created history when he scored 203 against Jharkhand. He is still the youngest batsman to breach the 200-mark.

Shaw completed his half-century off just 27 balls and the right-handed batsman reached the three-figure mark even before the completion of the 20th over.

He then raced past the 150-run mark and finished at 227* off 152 as Mumbai scored 457 in 50 overs. Shaw's 227* is now the highest-ever score in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Suryakumar Yadav, who will be joining the T20I squad in the next couple of days, also shone in the fixture and smashed 133 off 58, batting at 229.31
