The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday ordered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to submit full financial records of the party by September 7.

Pakistan?s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) said this is the last chance for the party to submit details of its accounts.

"Imran isn't providing details of the party's accounts for the past two years," Geo News quoted Akbar S Babar, a disgruntled PTI leader, as saying.

PTI lawyer Anwar Masood had appealed to halt the election body's proceedings in the foreign funding case citing that similar case is also being heard in the Supreme Court in which the ECP is a respondent.

According to the report, the PTI has failed to submit details of its accounts and funds to the ECP since the past two years but it has submitted the records to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haque said the party was willing to disclose its account details and also called for other parties to do the same.

A petition was filed by Babar in 2014 seeking disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan for allegedly obtaining funding from illegal sources and discrepancies in the party?s accounts.
