The authorities leading the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 have made another embarrassing public relations blunder after calling the tragedy a 'blessing in disguise'.

Malaysia's Defence and Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein shocked followers on Twitter when he agreed with someone who suggested there was a bright side to the disaster.

According to news.com.au, Kuala Lumpur-based journalist Ismail Amsyar called MH370 a blessing in disguise on Twitter.

Amsyar added that now he understood the beauty of unity, the sweetness of having each other.

Six minutes later Hussein replied that Amsyar was right, adding that MH370 was a blessing in disguise for everyone.

Hussein said he too now understood the beauty of unity, and sweetness of having each other.

Followers quickly questioned the appropriateness of the tweet.

According to the report, Alan Cook tweeted, saying the families will be not be happy to read.

Hj Azman HMZ also quickly responded: "@HishammuddinH2O @IsmailAmsyarSorry. I beg to differ with max consideratn & respect to the families. MH370 can't be a blessing!"
