Popular television actress Rupali Ganguly suffered minor injuries on Friday after two bikers broke the glass of her car's window, in a fit of rage. The incident took place around 8:30 am at Bharat Nagar signal junction in Andheri (West) when Gangluy was driving her five-year-old son to his school.
Her car happened to touch a bike ahead of her when her playful son suddenly snatched her mobile from her hand. But, it was just a small jerk as neither of the two men on the bike got hurt. Their bikes didn't even get scratched. But upon finding out that it was woman, that too an actress, behind the steering wheel, the rogues apparently decided to 'teach her a lesson'.
One of them immediately got down from the bike and started hurling abuses at her in Marathi. Meanwhile, the other smashed the left window. The incident left her son and 20-year-old caretaker in tears. Rupali apologised but the guy went on to break the glass of the rear windscreen. Fortunately the actress managed to escape.
“Is this the way to threat a woman and a child in a car? The incident occurred after my car rolled ahead and touched the bike, though I had applied the brake at the signal.
The pillion rider first looked back and then the biker hurled abuses. I raised my hands to say sorry. But the pillion rider banged my car," Rupali told Times Of India.
"I got worried when the biker punched the glass on the passenger side and broke it at one go and hurled abuses despite my repeated apology. I went blank on seeing blood around my arms after a glass shard hit me. Seeing this, my kid and the caretaker began to cry. The biker did not stop there and also tried to break the glass where my kid and caretaker were seated. I immediately reversed and accelerated. I noticed that the biker chased and even banged my car from behind before I managed to escape," she added.
The actress naratted the entire incident, along with pictures of her broken car, in a series of tweets -

An injured Rupali first went to drop her son to school but the authorities asked her take him home seeing their condition.
On the way back, Ganguly and her caretaker went to Versova police station to lodge a complaint. Within three hours, biker Mahesh Mokal (30) and pillion rider Akash Dhatkar (22) were traced and arrested. They were however released on bail later.
