Upset over Pakistan’s deplorable performance Down Under, former fast bowler and current bowling coach Waqar Younis has said there were some ‘hidden reasons’ behind his team’s shoddy show.
Waqar said he is no longer interested in coaching the team, and that he would soon reveal the reasons behind the debacle.
“I will only spell out these reasons before the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports.I want the committee to call me as I want to tell the people the reasons for the team’s poor performances,” Waqar said.
Waqar said he wants to discuss the reasons for the team’s calamitous performance before the committee so that everyone should be aware of what is going on in Pakistan cricket.
“I just feel the committee has to work with sincerity if they want to bring about positive changes in Pakistan cricket,” The Dawn quoted Waqar, as saying.
Pakistan were swamped 3-0 in the Test series and 5-0 in the one-day series in Australia and Waqar, who was the bowling and fielding coach of the team, said there were some ‘non-cricketing reasons’ for the pitiable show.
