Savio pip Jankidevi

St Dominic Savio, Andheri (E), defeated Jankidevi Public School, Andheri (W), 2-1 in the semifinals of the suburbs’ section of the DSO under-14 inter-school football tournament on Saturday. Playing on their school ground in Andheri, Dominic Savio looked comfortable throughout the game.

Dominic Savio scored both their goals in the first half and Jankidevi pulled one back in the second. Dominic Savio took the lead thanks to a clever goal by winger Shaikh Nabeel. His teammate, Sherwin Quadros, playing on the left flank, doubled the lead after a great run in the opposition box.

Jankidevi were not ready to give up despite being 0-2 down in the first half and exerted great pressure on  Dominic Savio.

Jankidevi’s efforts were rewarded when Aryaman Sapre took a shot from outside the box, which sailed over the goalkeeper’s head and into the back of the net.
