Mumbai’s Ajay Makwana emerged winner of the World Rummy Tournament (WRT) which concluded on September 30 at Casino Royale Goa. The grand finale of the WRT provided a global lifestyle experience to all its contestants. It was for the very first time that a competition of this stature was held in India. Around 250 contestants battled it out to take home a staggering Rs1 crore in cash, the largest-such payout in the history of the Rummy game in India, and a coveted Trophy.
Karnataka’s Vijay Kumar was the first runner-up while JU Vedamurthy finished second runner-up.
