Indian batting maestro, Sachin Tendulkar, may play out his role as Rajya Sabha MP to the hilt, thanks to his decision to adopt a village in Andhra Pradesh.

Tendulkar arrived at Krishnapatnam port on Saturday, following which he announced his intention to take part in the project.

The 'Master Blaster' was given a guard of honour by officers at the Krishnapatnam Port Security Academy.

Tendulkar later planted a tree as part of his visit, and had huge number of people lined up to watch him in person.

The village will see Tendulkar participating in various recreational drives on Sunday, with the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna  also associated in the legend's decision to take part in the adoption.

Tendulkar will use funds, approximately as big as Rs 2.79 crore, from his MP Local Area Development Scheme(MPLADS), which marks it as a wonderful initiative on part of the batting genius.

The village lies 18 km far from Gudur town and can definitely see Tendulkar's association as a gift from heaven.
