`Injured` Novak Djokovic unsure about future plans following Monte Carlo Masters loss

Johannesburg: Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic has reportedly admitted that he is not sure when he would play again following his 7-5, 6-2 Monte Carlo Masters loss to Roger Federer due to a wrist injury.

The World No. 2, who played with a brace on his wrist, reportedly revealed that he had been suffering with pain in his wrist all week.

According to Sport24, Djokovic said that he would just rest now, adding that he cannot play tennis for some time and is not sure how long would that be.

The Serb, who won the 2013 Monte Carlo title against Rafael Nadal, said that he is going to rest and see when his wrist can heal 100 percent, and then he would be back on the court.

Djokovic said that the good thing regarding his wrist injury is that he does not need to have a surgery, as he does not have any rupture or something of the sort.

Djokovic, whose loss ended a 13-match winning streak and a run of 23 in a row at the Masters level, reportedly admitted that he had been playing through the pain barrier all week in order to defend his aborted title.

However, if the Serb wants to make it to the French Open, which is just five weeks away, and also his next scheduled event the Madrid Masters in a fortnight, he has to make a full recovery in time, the report added.
