Virat Kohli's previous two Test dismissal's have dumbfounded one and all. For a batsman who's got double-centuries in his last four Test series, to get out in such a clueless manner, was something nobody would've expected.

The Indian skipper managed just 12 off 17 balls in India's first innings of the second Test against Australia on Sunday. And just like in Pune, this time too, he made a huge error in judgement and decided to leave the ball too early. The sight of the ball crashing into Kohli's pads, while his arms were up in the air, was a sight for the ages.

While there are many explanations coming from all quarters, trying to make sense of Kohli's poor form, former Australian opener and current national selector Mark Waugh has gone ahead and decided to label his dismissal as a "brain fade".

"That's a brain fade,” said Waugh while speaking on Fox Sports. “I know the ball before bounced and hit him on the thigh-pad and he's a bit worried about those two men on the leg side, but that's bread-and-butter for an Indian batsman, a class player. You just tuck that off the hip. It was very un-Kohli like. He made a point of saying 'we need to play with much more intent in this game' but he's been the prime example of not actually doing that."

Waugh then went on to say something that'll definitely not go down well with fans of the Indian cricket team. He went on to elucidate how Kohli's thinking is having a negative effect on the rest of the team.

"He's just thinking negatively because there's men around the bat. He's thinking if it bounces he might get an inside edge," said Waugh. "As a batsman, you can't think like that. He can hit that ball in his sleep for runs. He's obviously thinking is a little bit negatively and that's rubbed off on a few of his teammates."
