Harbhajan Singh keeps knocking over batsmen in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Punjab captain Harbhajan Singh continued with his good form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament as his team easily beat Tripura by 8 wickets to keep their quarter-final hopes alive.

Batting first, Tripura were bundled out for 96 in 18 overs with Samrat Singha scoring 23. In reply Punjab scored the runs in 15.3 overs losing only two wickets. Manan Vohra played a patient knock of 35 off 39 balls while debutant Anmol Malhotra smashed his way to 40 off 29 balls with six boundaries.

However it was the Punjab bowlers, who virtually won the match in the first innings bowling out the opposition for less than 100 runs. Skipper Harbahajan took 2/17 in 4 overs while leg-spinner Sarabjit Ladda had 3/30 in his full quota of overs.

Brief Scores: Tripura 96 in 18 overs (S ladda 3/20, Harbhajan Singh 2/17); Punjab 100/2 in 15.3 overs (Anmol Malhotra 40). Punjab won by 8 wickets.
