Gautam Gambhir once again has proved that his heroics are not only limited to the field but extend beyond it as well. 25 CRPF soldiers were martyred in a Maoist ambush near South Sukma, in Chhattisgarh and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gambhir has promised that his foundation will bear all the education expenses of the children of those CRPF soldiers.

In his column for Hindustan Times, he said that the Gautam Gambhir Foundation will participate actively to ease their problems and already steps are being undertaken for immediate remedy.

He has condemned the Maoist attack and feels shaken by their monstrosity. He was grief-stricken after he came across the picture of their shattered children.

“The Gautam Gambhir Foundation will take care of the entire education expenses of the children of these martyrs. My team has already started work on this and I shall soon share the progress we have made,” he wrote.

KKR wore a black arm band in their Indian Premier League outing against Rising Pune Supergiant on Wednesday, in memory of those soldiers. Gambhir went on to say that it was hard concentrating on the match after the barbaric attack, although he put on a solid performance along with Robin Uthappa to take KKR to the top of the IPL table.
