FIFA boss Sepp Blatter refuses to publish report on alleged World Cup corruption bidding

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has discarded the demand made by the English Football Association (FA) head Greg Dyke to publish the report into the long-standing allegations of corruption surrounding the bidding process for 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

FIFA boss Blatter stated that publishing the report would violate only its own rules and regulations, but also Swiss privacy laws. He further said that publication of the report could be permissible if the persons and entities included in the report consent to such publication and waive any legal action they might be entitled to bring, Sport24 reported.

FIFA announced the acquittal of Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 respectively of charges of corruption, stressing that was no need for a revote.

In view of the announcement, Greg Dyke had earlier demanded the publication of the report compiled by former US federal prosecutor Michael Garcia.
