According to a Uefa barometer ranking tool, James Milner of England is the fifth best player to be playing in Euro 2016.

Uefa ranking list is based on all the players who would be playing for Euro games this summer. According to media reports, Liverpool's winger Milner has been placed at rank 5, even ahead of his country teammates Dele Alli and Harry Kane, reports BBC.

Danny Drinkwater, who did not make it to the 23-player England squad, is the eighth best English player, according to Uefa's list in which Cristiano Ronaldo is at number one, followed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antoine Griezmann. The list has classed all players according to their position i.e midfielder, winger, forward, goalkeeper and full-back.

Uefa said, "The barometer runs official player statistics through a specially designed algorithm to create rankings based on player performances. The data considered for each player is specific to the position type. For example, tackles and interceptions are considered to be key statistics for defensive midfielders, while successful dribbles and crosses are core stats for wingers."

Marcus Rashford has been placed at number 93, four places behind fellow-teammate Wayne Rooney, captain of Manchester United. The list has placed the Welsh footballer Gareth Bale at number 12 while Paul Pogba is at number 16.
