Out-of-favour Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has said that he will try to perform at his absolute best in the upcoming first edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he targets return to the national squad for the World T20 tournament, which is to be played in India.

The 38-year-old, who made a comeback last February after serving a five-month ban from chucking, admitted that the PSL would provide him with good platform and, therefore, he would work harder to prove himself, Sport24 reported.

Ajmal was ranked as the number one bowler in ODIs and was also as impressive in Test cricket before being suspended for exceeding the 15-degree elbow flex limit set by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Ajmal, who believes that he had got his variations back, insisted that he would rediscover his old menace in the upcoming domestic league to make himself available for the team.

The off-spinner said that he had got some time to prove himself, adding that he would display good results in the PSL.

The PSL is slated to be held in the United Arab Emirates from February 4 to February 23.
