6 unknown highlights from MS Dhoni's train journey with Jharkhand team

Most successful Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who once worked as a ticket collector in the South Eastern Railway preferred to travel by train with his Jharkhand teammates from Ranchi to Howrah to participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Here are some interesting highlights of Dhoni's train journey:

1. Dhoni travelled in second-tier AC of 18616 Kriya Yoga Express.

2. The Jharkhand team did not have a special coach reserved for them and Dhoni travelled with his team and other co-passengers. They had a block booking for 23 passengers in second-tier AC.

3. Dhoni was given berth no. 25, AE 1. He kept his teammates awake till 2am in the midnight and the discussion mostly revolved around cricket.

4. He met two Group D staff who worked along with him during his days as ticket collector.

5. Mahi got down at Muri Junction to have a cup tea and samosas.

6. The railway authorities had arranged special security when the Jharkhand team boarded the train in Ranchi on Tuesday night and upon their arrival on Wednesday morning in Howrah.

Dhoni, who was removed as skipper of Indian Premier League side Rising Pune Supergiants a few days ago, had played last two seasons only as wicketkeeper for Jharkhand. But having relinquished Team India captaincy from all formats, Dhoni opted to lead his state and all eyes would be on the 'captain cool' in this season's domestic one-dayers beginning February 25.
